WISE Sports Radio football clip: Deshaun Watson’s trade market and off-field allegations

Well, shit. I had almost all of the recording for today’s WISE Sports Radio NFL segment edited. That is, until I tried to delete five minutes after my spot and ended up deleting the whole recording. And as far as I can tell, there’s no way to get it back. Motherfu…!

But I did save a clip of Pat Ryan, Mike Gore, and I talking about the reported trade market for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson and the two teams now apparently competing with the Carolina Panthers to make a deal for the young star.

WISE Sports Radio NFL spot: Franchise tag surprises, Teddy Bridgewater, Drew Brees

A big part of the NFL offseason began on Tuesday with teams deciding whether or not to put “franchise tags” on free agent players to keep them (and the big salaries that come with that) or let them go to sign elsewhere. On Thursday’s WISE Sports Radio NFL segment, Pat Ryan, Mike Gore, and I look at all the obstacles to clear. Additionally, we talk about former Michigan defensive lineman Taco Charlton, the XFL feud between Oliver Luck and Vince McMahon, and the Los Angeles Rams’ new uniforms.

WISE Sports Radio NFL hit: April 23, 2020

Up until Thursday’s NFL Draft, the big story in pro football this week is the reunion of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. (And Gronk came out of retirement!) How much fun will they have now that they’re no longer playing for grumpy Bill Belichick?

But the Draft is the NFL’s main attraction, maybe one of the last “real” sporting events we’ll have until the fall. (That is, if football is even played this coming season.) Will the Dolphins be able to trade up to No. 1 and get LSU quarterback Joe Burrow? Who will the Carolina Panthers take at No. 7? Will the Patriots get their Tom Brady replacement?
