Yeah, yeah, yeah — the NFC and AFC Championship Games are this weekend, with the winners going to the Super Bowl. Tom Brady! Aaron Rodgers! And maybe Patrick Mahomes, if he’s recovered from a possible concussion. Sure, we talked about those games on WISE Sports Radio‘s NFL segment.

But the Detroit Lions also have a new head coach! And Dan Campbell is winning over the fanbase with tough, candid talk and a sense of humor. I’m on board with the hire, as I said on the air (and “in print“).

Could the Carolina Panthers bring Deshaun Watson back to the southeast, where he played college football at Clemson? That would be hugely popular, but I don’t think the trade Pat Ryan proposed during our segment will be nearly enough. The Panthers will have to give up many draft picks to the Houston Texans to get the star quarterback.
