WISE Sports Radio NFL segment: Sept. 17, 2020

No sport encourages overreaction more than football. After just one week, one game, fans and media are ready to declare a team a success or failure. And in some cases, that quick verdict is probably justified.

On WISE Sports Radio’s NFL segment, Pat Ryan, Mike Gore, and I discussed the chances of New York Jets coach Adam Gase keeping his job for long, the supposed tension between Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians and quarterback Tom Brady, and the Buffalo Bills’ season-opening win.

WISE Sports Radio NFL segment: May 28, 2020

The NFL reacted to outrage over a bad pass interference call in the 2018 NFC Championship Game by making it reviewable under instant replay. But officials reviewed the plays so badly, rarely overturning even an apparent call, that the league has decided to nix it for the 2020 season.

Of course, that led Thursday’s WISE Sports Radio NFL segment. Pat Ryan, Mike Gore, and I discussed other big free agent signings and trades that have happened this week, including Teddy Bridgewater signing with the Carolina Panthers, Philip Rivers going to the Indianapolis Colts, and a bizarre allegation toward Houston Texans coach and general manager Bill O’Brien.

WISE Sports Radio NFL spot: March 5, 2020

Tom Brady’s pending free agency has taken the sports world hostage, so that was our main topic on Thursday’s WISE Sports Radio NFL segment! Could Brady really leave the New England Patriots and sign with another team, such as the San Francisco 49ers? Should Bill Belichick be doing more to make his star quarterback feel wanted?

Pat Ryan and I also discussed the Carolina Panthers’ head-scratching trade, Dak Prescott’s contract situation with the Dallas Cowboys, and which prospects surprised and disappointed at the NFL Scouting Combine.
