Surprise! It’s a two-episode week for the Amusement Park Podcast. Hopefully, you listen to both!

With the early launch of the DC Universe streaming service — full of movies, TV shows, animated films and series, and comic books — Chris and I decided to record a special edition of the show and share our thoughts after playing with the app for a few hours (and a couple days earlier than the announced launch).

Coming up with stuff to discuss hasn’t been a problem for us, five episodes into the Amusement Park Podcast. But it’s always helpful when the news fairies bring us a hot topic shortly before we record.

The apparent break-up between Henry Cavill and Warner Brothers, and Cavill no longer playing Superman on the big screen provided plenty for us to talk about. Chris Cox and I also discuss Entertainment Weekly‘s Captain Marvel cover story, review Season 2 of Netflix’s Iron Fist, and say goodbye to the Oscars’ “Most Popular Film” award.

Amusement Park Podcast 002: ‘They should’ve stopped at 4’

Chris Cox and I had so much fun recording The Amusement Park Podcast last week that we decided to do it again this week. OK, that was kind of the idea.

Next week, we may have a proper website for the podcast where episodes will be archived, while Chris and I will chime in on the pop culture stories that interest us (maybe as something of a preview or response to that week’s show). We’re workin’ on it!

For our second episode, we lament the time we wasted on Sharknado 6, wonder if the majority of moviegoers care who directs a film, and share what we enjoyed from the past week.
