WISE Sports Radio NFL segment: Nov. 21, 2019

It’s been a week since Myles Garrett hit Mason Rudolph in the head with his own helmet, and the NFL is now handing out punishment to each of the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers players involved in the brawl. But first, Garrett is trying to plead his case to the NFL.

On Thursday’s WISE Sports Radio NFL segment, Pat Ryan, Charlie Metcalf, and I discuss Garrett’s argument along with Le’Veon Bell’s outrage over the league’s “random” drug testing policy, and the respective futures of Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and NFL hopeful Tua Tagovailoa.

WISE Sports Radio MLB spot: Nov. 20, 2019

Now that we’re into baseball’s offseason, a story that should be getting a lot more attention is getting noticed.

A month ago, Baseball America reported that Major League Baseball was considering a proposal to eliminate 42 teams from its minor leagues, presumably based on geography, attendance, and the condition of its facilities. The New York Times followed up with both reaction from some of the clubs that could be affected and, most importantly, a list of the teams that could have their major league affiliation taken away.

That took up a big chunk of my WISE Sports Radio baseball segment with Pat Ryan. We also discussed MLB commissioner Rob Manfred addressing the sign-stealing allegations against the Houston Astros and look at the 2020 Hall of Fame ballot.

WISE Sports Radio NFL hit: Nov. 14, 2019

Colin Kaepernick has been the big story in the NFL during the past couple of days, leading into Week 11 of the season. The controversial quarterback who’s been blackballed from the NFL because of his activism on social issues is getting a chance to show what he still has in a workout this weekend.

Other Week 11 NFL topics discussed with Pat Ryan and Mike Gore on WISE Sports Radio include Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri and his increasingly diminishing skills, Thursday Night Football’s matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns, Deshaun Watson vs. Lamar Jackson, and the return of Nick Foles to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
