WISE Sports Radio baseball: Aaron Judge’s chill, Ozzie Albies’ injury, David Price hurts, Dodgers’ concerns

Two of the most thrilling stories as the 2022 Major League Baseball regular season nears its end are the National League East race between the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets and Aaron Judge’s pursuit of 61 home runs, a cherished piece of New York Yankees history.

On our WISE Sports Radio baseball segment, we discuss a key injury for the Braves and Judge’s likelihood of surpassing what many see as the “real” (unaided by PEDs) single-season home run record. Other topics include the Los Angeles Dodgers’ postseason chances, pitcher David Price likely retiring, and a quick football note about the Detroit Lions.

Shortly before we were on the air, the Detroit Tigers hired Scott Harris from the San Francisco Giants to be the team’s new president of baseball operations. Fortunately, we didn’t cover that because I wouldn’t have had much to say off the top of my head, other than to say hiring someone from the Giants’ front office is probably a good way to go. Many seem to agree that this is a good move by the Tigers.

You can stream The WISE Guys from 3 to 6 p.m. ET at wisesportsradio.com (courtesy of Mars Hill University) or the TuneIn app. Locally in the Asheville area, dial up 1310 or 970 AM and 102.9 FM. And thanks to Blue Mountain Pizza (a favorite when I used to live nearby) for sponsoring this week’s segment.
