WISE Sports Radio baseball talk: 2022 Hall of Fame ballot, Noah Syndergaard, Justin Verlander, top free agents

Unlike last week, I recorded my WISE Sports Radio baseball segment! And this time, I almost got all of it. Not sure if I bumped the keyboard or hit the desk, but for whatever reason, the recording stopped toward the end. So there’s a sad trombone for a punctuation mark.

We got just about everything in, though. Will any of the new additions to the 2022 Baseball Hall of Fame ballot be voted in? Noah Syndergaard signs with the Los Angeles Angels. Justin Verlander returns to the Houston Astros. And who are the top free agents available this offseason?

The Hall of Fame ballot can be a tiresome topic, but with Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, and Curt Schilling in their final year of eligibility, there will be some suspense. Or maybe not, since Bonds and Clemens won’t get in. But could David Ortiz?

I should despise Big Papi because of his grand slam against the Tigers in the 2013 American League Championship Series. But I kinda like the guy. Even if he may have cost Detroit a shot at a World Series title that season.

You can stream The WISE Guys from 3 to 6 p.m. ET at wisesportsradio.com (courtesy of Mars Hill University) or the TuneIn app. Locally in the Asheville area, dial up 1310 or 970 AM and 102.9 FM. And thanks to Happy Hill Restaurant for sponsoring the MLB segment.
