WISE Sports Radio MLB talk: Mariners exec steps in it, baseball’s next big contract, AL East picks

Talking baseball on WISE Sports Radio, we discuss now-former Seattle Mariners president Kevin Mather forcing himself to resign with dumb comments about international players, keeping top prospects in the minor leagues, and the neighborhood surrounding T-Mobile Park.

Also among our topics: Which player will be next to sign a blockbuster contract after Fernando Tatis Jr.’s mega-deal and with baseball season nearing, we begin our division predictions with the American League East.

My pick for baseball’s next $300 million man is Francisco Lindor. He already turned down a reported $100 million offer from the Cleveland Indians, which indicates that he wants the big, big money. (Maybe he also didn’t want to play for Cleveland anymore.) And with the New York Mets trading for him, they’ll have to come up with a massive contract to keep him and justify that acquisition.
