Is Major League Baseball moving ahead with its plan to play the 2020 season with 30 teams divided into three divisions based on geography? Maybe, but nothing’s official.
On Wednesday’s WISE Sports Radio MLB segment, Pat Ryan and I discuss that along with the story of Baltimore Orioles first baseman Trey Mancini, whose current plight is something to which Pat can relate closely.
As mentioned, I spent some time last weekend thinking about how much baseball players spit. Tobacco, sunflower seeds, gum, or just simple spit. They’re spitting into their gloves, they’re licking their fingers to get a grip on the ball or bat. They’re blowing snot rockets into the grass. All of which seems horrifying when we’re so fearful of droplets in the air. Can any of those habits change for the sake of safety?
You can listen to The WISE Guys from 3 to 6 p.m. ET streaming on wisesportsradio.com or the TuneIn app. Locally in the Asheville area, dial up 1310 or 970 AM and 102.9 FM.
Thanks to WISE Sports Radio for allowing me to post this on my site, along with Mars Hill University (which sponsors the stream), Pat Ryan, and Vistanet for sponsoring my MLB segment.
