WISE Sports Radio baseball talk? Botched the recording!

On Mondays, I usually appear on Asheville’s WISE Sports Radio to talk about the latest in Major League Baseball with Pat Ryan. And I did that this week. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to record audio from my computer for some reason. So no clip of my segment.

I thought I had everything set up correctly, but my recording software wasn’t getting the audio stream. And by the time I realized it, I didn’t have enough time to figure out what the problem was, my phone rang and it was time to talk on the radio. Oops. Foiled by human error again. (Or maybe computer error, I still haven’t determined what happened.)

So you’ll just have to believe me when I say we had one of the best radio segments in the show’s history. Oh, yeah. Here’s what we discussed, in case anyone is interested:

WISE Sports Radio baseball talk: Braves World Series champs, Buster Posey retires, Dodgers’ offseason

And we’re back! With Pat Ryan on vacation, we didn’t have a WISE Sports Radio baseball segment. Fortunately, we can still talk about the Atlanta Braves winning the World Series and whether or not they have a chance at repeating.

Additionally, we talk about what the Los Angeles Dodgers need to do this offseason, San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey (a sure Hall of Famer) retiring, and Major League Baseball’s looming work stoppage.

WISE Sports Radio talk: 2021 World Series preview, Dave Roberts’ job status, Oliver Marmol new Cardinals manager

The World Series begins this week with the Houston Astros and Atlanta Braves playing for Major League Baseball’s championship. For our weekly WISE Sports Radio segment, we preview the series which has some definite local interest with the Braves involved. What does each team need to do to win this series?

We also discuss whether or not Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts should worry about his job status and the St. Louis Cardinals naming Oliver Marmol as their new skipper. And we mix in some football talk at the end with rumors that the Carolina Panthers want to trade for Deshaun Watson.

Baseball’s postseason is now in the Championship Series round. Four teams remain! The winners go to the World Series. Both the American League and National League series were very entertaining over the weekend, providing close games and thrilling finishes. Our WISE Sports Radio baseball segment leads off with the Dodgers-Braves and Red Sox-Astros matchups

We also discuss Major League Baseball planning to provide housing for all of its minor-league players beginning next season, a long overdue move. And after the St. Louis Cardinals’ shocking firing of manager Mike Shildt on Thursday, we look at who might take over that job and Shildt being a possible candidate for the San Diego Padres’ opening.

WISE Sports Radio talk: Rule hurts Rays, White Sox accuse Astros, Dan Campbell’s tears

Baseball is never more exciting than during the postseason and the divisional playoffs haven’t disappointed thus far. On our WISE Sports Radio segment, we discuss an unusual play in Game 3 of the Rays-Red Sox series, the Braves taking control over the Brewers, and the Dodgers in a good position to defeat the Giants.

And with the Detroit Lions suffering another heartbreaking last-second loss, we talk about coach Dan Campbell’s emotional post-game press conference. Earlier, I wrote a column at The Comeback about how important that was for the Lions and their fans.
