WISE Sports Radio baseball talk: Braves World Series champs, Buster Posey retires, Dodgers’ offseason

And we’re back! With Pat Ryan on vacation, we didn’t have a WISE Sports Radio baseball segment. Fortunately, we can still talk about the Atlanta Braves winning the World Series and whether or not they have a chance at repeating.

Additionally, we talk about what the Los Angeles Dodgers need to do this offseason, San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey (a sure Hall of Famer) retiring, and Major League Baseball’s looming work stoppage.

I probably went on too long about the issues MLB team owners and players are fighting over for a new collective bargaining agreement. The simple — and obvious — answer is money. But the exact points of conflict are more complex than that, the kind of stuff fans aren’t necessarily interested in. What matters is whether or not it affects the 2022 MLB season — and what could be a very fun offseason, if baseball did a better job of grabbing those headlines.

You can stream The WISE Guys from 3 to 6 p.m. ET at wisesportsradio.com (courtesy of Mars Hill University) or the TuneIn app. Locally in the Asheville area, dial up 1310 or 970 AM and 102.9 FM. And thanks to Happy Hill Restaurant for sponsoring the MLB segment.
