WISE Sports Radio NFL spot: Dec. 5, 2019

On Tuesday’s WISE Sports Radio segment, news of the Carolina Panthers firing head coach Ron Rivera was raw and fresh so we got to that right away. Two days later, we’re on to the aftermath. What kind of coach will Panthers owner David Tepper seek as a replacement?

We also discuss Terrelle Pryor being arraigned in light of his stabbing, some Week 14 storylines to watch, and Thursday Night Football‘s match-up between the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears.

WISE Sports Radio segment: Dec. 3, 2019

Normally, I do baseball segments Monday and Wednesday on WISE Sports Radio. But Pat Ryan and I got our times mixed up on Monday, and Pat’s taking Wednesday off. So we did a longer mash-up segment on Tuesday with NFL and college football talk before touching on some baseball topics and doing a movie review.

News of the Carolina Panthers firing head coach Ron Rivera broke shortly before my segment, so Pat, Charlie Metcalf, and I started there first. Then we discussed my Awful Announcing interview with Toledo sportscaster Jordan Strack, who went viral when his question offended Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh. The New York Yankees are trying to avoid paying Jacoby Ellsbury the $27 million they owe him for 2020, while the Seattle Mariners just agreed to pay $24 million to a 23-year-old prospect who hasn’t yet played above the Double-A minor league level.

Pat Ryan and I discuss that and more on Monday’s WISE Sports Radio baseball segment, including the Chicago White Sox making a push toward contending next season and the Atlanta Braves’ wasting no time in making additions for 2020.

WISE Sports Radio NFL segment: Nov. 21, 2019

It’s been a week since Myles Garrett hit Mason Rudolph in the head with his own helmet, and the NFL is now handing out punishment to each of the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers players involved in the brawl. But first, Garrett is trying to plead his case to the NFL.

On Thursday’s WISE Sports Radio NFL segment, Pat Ryan, Charlie Metcalf, and I discuss Garrett’s argument along with Le’Veon Bell’s outrage over the league’s “random” drug testing policy, and the respective futures of Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and NFL hopeful Tua Tagovailoa.
