International Radio! Talking MLB’s COVID-19 outbreak on Edmonton’s TSN 1260

When I get the call from Edmonton’s TSN 1260 to talk baseball, it’s usually because a big story is happening. An outbreak of 14 Miami Marlins players or coaches testing positive for COVID-19 certainly qualifies.

Chatting with Matthew Iwanyk, we go over the timeline of the outbreak among the Marlins team and the sequence of events that led Major League Baseball to postpone Monday’s games in Miami and Philadelphia. How big a problem is MLB facing in trying to play the 2020 season amid a pandemic?

WISE Sports Radio segment: July 23, 2020

Baseball is making news, which overtook our usual NFL segment on WISE Sports Radio. Mookie Betts signed a gargantuan 12-year, $365 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. And baseball players are kneeling during the National Anthem.

At the risk of sounding way behind cultural trends or looking white as mayonnaise, I’ve become a fan of Desus & Mero.

I was aware of them before and NBA writer Chris Herring often shows them love on Twitter.

So what took me so long? I don’t know! Maybe because I don’t watch VICELAND that much, but now that they’ve moved to Showtime, I see ads for the show all the time before and after watching Billions.

(By the way, I’ve finished my binge! Just waiting for the second half of Season 5 whenever COVID-19 allows the series to go back into production.)
