WISE Sports Radio baseball talk: Atlanta loses MLB All-Star Game, opening weekend highlights, NL East predictions

The Carolina Panthers getting quarterback Sam Darnold from the New York Jets hijacked some of our usual baseball talk on Asheville’s WISE Sports Radio. Does this mean Teddy Bridgewater will play for another team in 2021?

On the baseball side, I discussed Major League Baseball moving the 2021 All-Star Game out of Atlanta, early COVID-19 concerns, and highlights from the new season’s opening weekend with Pat Ryan and Charlie Metcalf.

I probably should’ve tried to shoehorn the rest of my National League East division predictions in. As mentioned, I have the Atlanta Braves finishing first, but I see the rest of the standings looking like this:

  1. Braves
  2. Mets
  3. Nationals
  4. Phillies
  5. Marlins

Oh, and after giving some praise to Detroit Tigers outfielder Akil Baddoo for hitting a home run on the first pitch he ever saw in MLB, he did this on Monday afternoon versus the Minnesota Twins:
