WISE Sports Radio MLB update: June 15, 2020

The standoff between Major League Baseball team owners and players continues and may finally be nearing an end. But likely without a resolution as the players rejected the owners’ latest proposal and have essentially dared MLB to launch a 2020 season.

Yet as we discussed during Monday’s baseball segment on WISE Sports Radio, that really wouldn’t solve any of the disagreement between owners and players. Down the line, it will almost certainly cause more problems and could veer into legal territory.

As we were on the air, news came down that MLB commissioner Rob Manfred gave a bleak outlook for a season to ESPN’s Mike Greenberg. This is one time when I wish I wasn’t right about no baseball being played this year.

You can listen to The WISE Guys from 3 to 6 p.m. ET streaming on wisesportsradio.com or the TuneIn app. Locally in the Asheville area, dial up 1310 or 970 AM and 102.9 FM.

Thanks to WISE Sports Radio for allowing me to post this on my site, along with Mars Hill University (which sponsors the stream), Pat Ryan, and Vistanet for sponsoring my MLB segment.

  1. Sorry but not buying into the pity party for Elle Duncan. Danny Ainge put together practically a whole black team for the Boston Celtics and they won a championship together and we are still hearing a pity party about racism. Someone should tell Elle that no one can make you feel bad unless you let them. Let’s trying having a tougher skin. You want to work in Boston that’s what it takes.
