WISE Sports Radio NFL hit: Feb. 27, 2020

Quarterbacks make the NFL world go ’round (well, maybe coaches too) and this offseason figures to be very entertaining with big names like Tom Brady available to sign with another team. And he’s apparently ready to.

On Thursday’s WISE Sports Radio NFL segment, Pat Ryan, Mike Gore, and I also ask if Cam Newton is a good fit with new Carolina Panthers coach Matt Rhule, Ron Rivera challenging Dwayne Haskins in Washington, the new Collective Bargaining Agreement proposal, and how much money the Dallas Cowboys will have to pay Dak Prescott.

WISE Sports Radio MLB spot: Feb. 26, 2020

Phone problems at the WISE Sports Radio mothership prevented Monday’s baseball segment from happening. But we were back at it on Wednesday to talk about the New York Yankees suffering a serious blow to their starting pitching rotation.

Pat Ryan and I also discussed two instances of social media and interactions with fans getting out of hand for at least two major leaguers, along with the secret cowboy life of Madison Bumgarner.

Also, we praise Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, discuss the NFL’s proposed new playoff format and 17-game schedule — and all the money to come with those — and I almost break down talking about my Detroit Lions fandom.

If the Astros and baseball commissioner Rob Manfred thought Houston’s sign-stealing scandal would go away once the team was penalized, neither side can be happy that the story is being kept alive by fans, media, and MLB players.

On Monday’s WISE Sports Radio baseball segment, Pat Ryan and I look at how badly Manfred continues to handle the situation as outrage over the lack of punishment for Astros players gets noisier.
