Super Bowl time! Naturally, Thursday’s WISE Sports Radio NFL segment focused on the Super Bowl LIV match-up between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs.
But Pat Ryan, Mike Gore, and I also discussed NFL commissioner Roger Goodell acknowledging that the league’s “Rooney Rule,” mandating that teams interview minority candidates for head-coaching positions, hasn’t worked as hoped. Oh, and favorite Super Bowl party dish!
I hope I didn’t offend anyone with my joke about a NFL team interviewing a janitorial worker to fill a Rooney Rule requirement. After I said that, I imagined someone could be upset with what the remark implied. I was trying to make fun of how narrow-minded NFL front offices and ownership have been with interviewing minority candidates.
Thanks to WISE Sports Radio for allowing me to post this on my site, along with Mars Hill University (which sponsors the stream), host Pat Ryan, and D.C. Creasman Jewelers for sponsoring my NFL segment.
