Curses! No radio clips due to technical difficulties, operator error

Not off to a great start in posting radio clips in 2022. I didn’t get Monday’s WISE Sports Radio baseball segment recorded because my computer wouldn’t recognize my microphone as a speaker and playback device. But had I checked earlier than five minutes before the call, I probably would’ve had that fixed.

Major League Baseball is still in a lockout with no negotiation talks scheduled, but we did have some topics to chat up, mostly in sports media. (And we hardly ever talk sports media on WISE, despite that being my “day job.”)

MLB Network dismissed reporter Ken Rosenthal for criticizing MLB commissioner Rob Manfred. At ESPN, former Yankees and Mets pitcher David Cone joins Sunday Night Baseball as an analyst, while an alternate SNB telecast will feature Alex Rodriguez and Michael Kay. And outside of media, the Yankees hired Rachel Balkovec to manage their Single-A Tampa minor-league team, making her the first-ever female skipper in the minors.
