WISE Sports Radio MLB spot: June 3, 2020

I hope the WISE Sports Radio listeners in Asheville don’t think that I’m a broken record or automaton repeating the same bleak forecast. But I’ve been pessimistic about a 2020 Major League Baseball season being played since the COVID-19 shutdown. But I initially thought it would be due to health and safety concerns, not team revenues and player salaries.

On Wednesday’s baseball update, Pat Ryan and I responded to the news that MLB team owners rejected the latest proposal from players. And there doesn’t appear to be much urgency for another proposal or negotiation. To me, this just looks even more hopeless.

WISE Sports Radio segment: Dec. 3, 2019

Normally, I do baseball segments Monday and Wednesday on WISE Sports Radio. But Pat Ryan and I got our times mixed up on Monday, and Pat’s taking Wednesday off. So we did a longer mash-up segment on Tuesday with NFL and college football talk before touching on some baseball topics and doing a movie review.

WISE Sports Radio MLB spot: Oct. 28, 2019

What looked like a certain World Series championship for the Washington Nationals is now in danger of slipping away with the Houston Astros winning Games 3, 4, and 5 in Washington D.C. over the weekend.

We’re going back to Houston with the Astros holding a 3-2 series lead and the upper hand. The pressure is now on the Nationals to win Tuesday’s Game 6 and push the series to a Game 7. But has the Nats’ magic run out? And how did this series turn so dramatically? That’s what Pat Ryan and I discussed on WISE Sports Radio Monday, along with front office changes in Pittsburgh and Boston.

The Podcass 008: Breaking the seal

No, this is not a glitch. The Podcass is back! It’s been a long, long time since we’ve played podcast with you, and we missed you. We hope you missed us! But we’ve finally unpacked the microphone, started talking into it and recording.

To break the seal after a long time on the shelf, I’m sharing my segments from the past week on Asheville’s WISE Sports Radio with Pat Ryan.
