WISE Sports Radio Baseball: Trevor Bauer suspension, Clayton Kershaw’s record, New York Mets’ success

Major League Baseball made a statement by suspending Trevor Bauer for two seasons (324 games) under its domestic violence and sexual misconduct policy. Our WISE Sports Radio baseball segment begins with discussing the punishment and whether Bauer has any chance at returning to MLB.

On the field — with more pleasant topics — we also cover Clayton Kershaw setting the Los Angeles Dodgers career strikeout mark and whether or not he’s the franchise’s greatest pitcher, five New York Mets combining for a no-hitter (in addition to the team having the best record in the National League), and the abysmal Cincinnati Reds.

WISE Sports Radio Baseball: Miggy 3000, Oakland attendance, Angel Hernandez, Gabe Kapler

Miguel Cabrera reaching 3,000 hits didn’t appear to draw the national headlines that such a story once did. But we led off our WISE Sports Radio baseball segment with the Detroit Tigers slugger joining some of the sport’s legends with his achievements.

That was the case on Thursday morning with the 2022 Major League Baseball season set to begin a few hours later. But rather than talk about the season at hand (Go Tigers! Go Mets!), Jim combined peanut butter with chocolate to discuss MLB’s new streaming TV deals with Apple TV+ and Peacock. Is this baseball embracing the future or making it more difficult for fans to find the product?
